lowest levels in 80 years. The world sees this as a stark sign of the escalating environmental and geopolitical crisis we face. But as Christians, we recognize something deeper. Its prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes. The world blames climate change and a lack of rainfall for the Euphr Euphrates River drying up. There’s a stark warning from Iraq where officials say the country’s water reserves have dropped to their lowest level in 80 years. And the news comes a day after wind dry
winter and shrinking flows from the Tigris and Euphrates River vital lifelines for the region. According to IDOK’s Ministry of Water Resources, the summer season should be starting with at least 18 billion cubic meters of water, but right now the country has just over half of that about 10 billion cubic meters. And a ministry spokesperson Khaled Shamal told AFP media that this is the lowest reserve Iraq has seen in eight decades, blaming both climate change and upstream dams in Turkey
and Iran for the crisis. But I want to remind you, no matter what reason the world gives, the truth remains. This was foretold. The Bible guaranteed that this river would dry up. And now in our lifetime, we’re witnessing it happen exactly as scripture said it would. At the time this prophecy was written, the Euphrates was one of the greatest and most powerful rivers in the world. Its waters
sustained empires like Sumer, Akad, Babylon, Assyria, and even influenced the reach of the Roman and Parthion empires. The Euphrates River flowed directly through the heart of Babylon, the kingdom ruled by Belshazzer. Babylon’s walls were massive, over 300 ft high, according to Heroditus, and
