marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away. So also will the coming of the son of man be. These are not words to gloss over. They are a prophetic mirror, a divine echo from the past meant to shake us awake in the present. Jesus compares the last days to the days of Noah. And if you look around at the world, at
society, even at the church, you’ll realize something terrifying. We are living in the days of Noah. History is repeating itself. In Noah’s day, life went on like normal. People were busy with their lives, eating, drinking, getting married. They weren’t doing anything inherently evil in that moment.
But here’s the issue. They were indifferent to God. They were so caught up in the routine of life that they completely ignored the warning signs around them. God had been erased from their daily
consciousness. They prioritized everything else, entertainment, relationships, work, pleasure, but not God. And this is the same spirit that pervades our modern culture. We have built cities without altars,
lives without prayer, and governments without the fear of God. The world tells us, “Live your truth.
Follow your heart. You only live once.” That is the anthem of a generation asleep at the wheel. The culture celebrates rebellion and applauds self-indulgence. We scroll past signs of judgment. We laugh off warnings. We numb our consciences with distraction.
