India’s COVID crisis: Doctors say New Delhi is like a ‘national disaster’

Nearly two weeks after India began hitting global record highs with the number of daily coronavirus infections, hospitals are still suffering from an acute shortage of oxygen supplies. The capital’s authorities have asked for the army to be brought in to help set up and run coronavirus health facilities in New Delhi. Our Sky News team spent the day in a hospital there and found the doctors in a continuous desperate search for supplies – despite the central government urging its citizens not to panic and insisting it was sorting out the oxygen shortage. This report from Alex Crawford contains pictures of a dead child in a body bag and people in distress which you may find disturbing.
