A terrible natural disaster struck the Dharamsala area in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh today on 12 July. The tourist area of Bhagsu Nag experienced flash flooding due to heavy rain on Monday morning. A small runoff took the form of a river and passed through the village. Many cars were washed away by the raging stream of water. Many residential buildings and hotels were also affected by the downpour. Local residents are horrified by this destruction. Amid a massive influx of tourists into the northern hilly state of Himachal Pradesh, floods have brought normal life to a standstill, threatening large economic losses. The national highway was also blocked on Monday morning near Jakri in the Shimla Rampur region.
