Catholic Church Response to Trump Immigration Enforcement

 There’s too many people on, too many cameras making too many statements without actually showing up and looking at one another eye to eye and saying to

one another, you know, we’re brothers and sisters and we can treat each other as such. Catholic response to the scenes of distrust, unrest and fear as mass arrests, detentions and deportations
continue around the country. The anxiety is real and is being felt in the pews, as church attendance
among immigrants has plunged in many cities. The bishop of San Bernardino, California, even issuing
special dispensation from Sunday mass attendance for those parishioners who fear immigration raids.
What is the best balance between keeping our country, our borders and our communities safe,
enforcing our immigration laws and treating immigrants, especially non-criminal immigrants, with
humanity, dignity and compassion as we are taught to by
