Belarus: Protesters beaten in Minsk demonstration
Law enforcement dressed in plain clothes were seen beating protesters with batons in Minsk on Sunday.
Scores of protesters blocked streets, as law enforcement responded by lining the roads with menacing-looking police vehicles and water cannons.
Several arrests were made, including Russian and Belarusian reporters, according to local media.
Since on October 2, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs cancelled all accreditation of foreign journalists in response to sanctions.
Belarus has been swept by anti-government protests following the disputed presidential election that saw incumbent President Lukashenko re-elected for a sixth term. Hundreds of thousands have taken to the streets in anti-government protests over the last two months.
